USA (Georgia): A survey shows that public is unaware of animal welfare laws

In Georgia (US), a new bill has been introduced to propose harsher punishments in case of animal mistreatement. Following this bill, a survey has been taken by Landmark Communications, Inc., and was conducted on Jan. 23 with 750 random eligible voters. The goal of the survey was to know if the new bill will be accepted or not by the public. The result showed little opposition to the bill proposing harsher punishments. But it also revealed that the public is unaware of the national animal welfare legislation.
