The conference will see the presentation of results from the Commission's study which was first launched at the European Conference on the Welfare of Dogs and Cats in October 2013. The study investigated the welfare issues of dogs and cats involved in commercial practices in the context of the internal market, consumer protection and public health. At the conference, stakeholders from different backgrounds will discuss the outcomes of the research and reflect on the practical considerations that relate to companion animal welfare.
