European Parliament voted in favour of the proposed legislative package on commercial and non-commercial movement of companion animals

On 23rd may 2013, the EU Parliament has voted in favour of the revised Schnellhardt Report on a proposed legislation on non-commercial movement and the proposed Regulation on commercial movement of companion animals

Sow Stalls Ban Enforcement: Latest news from EU Commission

On 28 January 2013, EU Commission has hold on the third stakeholder meeting about sow stall enforcement ban. 

New data have been given during this meeting. These data (below) are confirming the estimations done in October 2012 by EU Commission. Basically, at least 19 Member States on 27 will be at more than 90% of compliance with the ban, which is quite a good result regarding the negative prognosis of March 2012.

Sow Stalls Ban Enforcement: Encouraging news from EU Commission !

On October 17 2012, EU Commission held the second Sow Stall meeting of the year (the first one was on March 17 2012) in order to present the enforcement situation about the Sow Stall Directive, coming into force on January 1 2013, after a twelve years transition period.
