Since January 1 2016, it is prohibited to keep a dog on chain in Hungary. This prohibition comes from a change in the Hungarian Animal Protection Law that happened in 2012. Offenders will be fined with a maximum fine of 150 000 HUF (476 €).
In Hambourg, Germany, a taxi driver was sentenced to a 300€ fine for having refused (without giving an argument) to transport two small dogs (Jack Russel and Beagle) accompanying their owners.

Recently, the Senate Minority Leader McConnell passed a bill to made of cockfightings and dogfightings a federal crime, punishable by up to a year in prison and $100,000 fine. The bill also provides that bringing a minor to such fights is a federal felony, punishable by up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The bill has raised massive protests in the US from breeders and farmers who where winning a lot of monney out of this fights.
Last week, a maltese Court gave a judgment which sentenced to a 4,600€ fine smugglers of protected birds coming from Sicily. The case was disclosed and prosecuted as a result of joint operation by Customs, the Administrative Law Enforcement Unit of the Malta Police Force and the Specialist Enforcement Branch of the Wild Birds Regulation Unit
